Yash Chopra Passed Away: Yash Chopra Died With Dengue

Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, 80,  passed away on Sunday in Mumbai. According to the state media sources, Chopra was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital last Saturday with dengue fever. He was reported to have improved and was expected to be discharged soon.

Chopra was born on Sept 27, 1932 in Lahore. He is survived by his wife Pamela and two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.

He directed classics of Indian cinema including films like Waqt, Ittefaq, Daag, Deewar,  Silsila, Chandni,  Lamhe,  Darr,  Dil to Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara. His new film named ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan‘, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, was expected to release this Diwali.

"I'm in shock and numb, can't believe the news, the man who immortalised love, Mr. Yash Chopra is no more," actor Akshay Kumar said on Twitter.
