Calven Chik Foo Keong was charged in the magistrate's court with injuring the woman in alleged to have assaulted his wife Amanda Fong in a CCTV recording which went viral. Chik was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to a year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both upon conviction, The Star reports.
Chik was represented by lawyers Dexter Mah Kok Leong, Nur Syaira Othman and Hasanuddin Mohd Yusoff, while DPP Nurul Qistini Qamar Abrar prosecuted. Magistrate Haslinda Raof fixed Oct 31 for the next mention of the case. Last month, Malaysia's rocking city Ipoh was in the eyes of the Web when there was a tragic incident in Ipho and went viral.
