She was also joined by by her 49-year old mother Michelle and lawyer Datuk G. Amajit Singh Gill. According to a blog of Movement For Change, Sarawak (MoCS), the state Welfare Department has obtained an interim restraining order to protect Amanda and the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code after both husband and wife lodged police reports at the Sungai Senam police station on Monday.

She was looking so sad even she was in tears during the press conference. The tearful 19-year old Amanda said while telling the story, "It all started when a friend of my husband wanted to sell branded perfume to our store, I do not like the idea, I do not believe in them because a friend of my husband had owed RM2, 000 over the last two years and failed to pay. I fear the artificial perfume. I stopped arguing because my stomach pain and I want to come back and relax and he started to act violently against me."

“I know it was wrong. I knew it the moment the red mist cleared. I’m sorry", Chik said while talking with online portal Malaysian Digest. "I know that there is no reason or justification for my actions and I cannot defend myself over this. It was something that I should not have done. I regret it."
Calven Chik confirmed the pregnancy news on his Facebook account on August 17, 2012. He wrote, "Baby on the way. I'm gonna be a DADDY soon :DDD." But their life was ruined suddenly.
A CCTV video which was upladed on Amanda's Facebook account, went viral and there are millions of Web users are now reacting on Facebook and Twitter on this sad incident.
