Misha Lakhani 'A Colonial Transgression' collection at the PFDC L'Oreal Bridal Week 2012

The PFDC L'Oreal Bridal Week had officially begun, and buyers, editors, socialites, celebrities, and fashion-lovers settled down to soak in the shows.

Misha Lakhani, who creates collections that express a unique sense of personal style, presented her "A Colonial Transgression" collection at the PFDC L'Oreal Bridal Week 2012.

The collection is inspired by the inlay work of Taj Mahal, contemporary but timeless silhouettes, the colors of summer going into fall, 17th century embroidery, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, Jaipuri gota and Daphne Guinness’s eclectic way.

With fabrics such as crepe, georgette, muslin, velvet, net, satin and chiffon, the embellishments ranged from zardosi, vasli, marori, doree ka kaam, cutwork along with screen prints, digital prints and discharge prints. The net saris embellished with red and pink rosettes and sequins are not just wearable but also very feminine.

Overall, with its rich colour palette, Lakhani’s bridal week collection was well executed and styled. Misha Lakhani used a rich colour palette for the Colonial Transgression collection including ivory, olive, citron, saffron, blush, hot pink, bordeaux and cardinal red. She was Mehreen Syed whose sexy walk on the ramp stole the night.
